Back at it with the poptimism! I saw Sabrina last year in Vancouver, had a blast, and was lucky enough to be in Toronto for her additional dates this year wrapping up the Short 'n Sweet Tour. I had nosebleed seats in Vancouver, but splurged for a GA floor ticket this time. Have to let Toronto know I've arrived, right?
This show was night one of two at Scotiabank Arena. Amber Mark and Ravyn Lenae provided support. Sabrina's production felt like an refinement of what I saw in Vancouver last year, with new songs from Man's Best Friend spliced in. Lots of fun moments, with the surprise song spin-the-bottle routine and the "Juno" position both returning. I love that she added to the set list with Man's Best Friend, but didn't make a single cut from the original set list.
And of course, the experience on the floor is different altogether. Not just because we were showered with confetti during "Espresso", but also because everything is so much more immediate in the pit. I hope she does a full tour for Man's Best Friend next year, but either way, pretty cool I got to see her on both sides of the country for her Short 'n Sweet era. An era that propelled her through a well-deserved meteoric rise.
